West sat on his bed, thinking. Everything was moving perfectly, and now all he had to do was keep herding the sheep to where he wanted them to be. He knew Brooke would be easy to please, but she was still attached to that other guy, Brandon. With him in the picture, she would be too hesitant. It would be too risky to make a blunt approach and just take Brandon completely out of the picture for good, so he had to be smarter. He wasn’t going to simply snatch Brooke away from him; he would have Brandon hand her over to West. To do that, he’d have to make nice with Brandon, maybe become too nice, and drive a wedge between him and Brooke. Firs things first, he’d have to gain the man’s trust. And tonight, Brooke will help him do just that. The thought of spending time with her was too much, but he couldn’t let his excitement show. He heard a knock downstairs, and with a smile, ran quickly down his steps to answer it, finding the lovely girl from next door right outside. “Brooke, beautiful as always,” he greeted her with a charming smile. “Ready?” he asked, grabbing his keys and wallet from the table near the door.
Brooke looked up to West and smiled. “Hey” she said. She pursed her lips at his comment. “Oh stop it” she said furrowing her eyebrows and shaking her head. She laughed a little though. She nodded. “I am indeed” she said. She stepped to the side to wait for him to come out. “You look okay yourself by the way” she said laughing and nudging him. She crossed her arms over her chest and walked out onto the street. “Which is your car then?” she asked. She didn’t want to walk out until she knew where she was going. She tucked a loose hair behind her ear as she waited for him to respond.
Brooke put on her skinny jeans and a tank top with her jacket, she pulled her hair back into a high ponytail and left the ends curly. Putting on some make-up. She wanted to look older so she’d get in at this bar she was going to with West. She wasn’t sure what to make of him yet, but she didn’t have a lot of friends and Brandon wasn’t always around so it was nice to have someone to hang out with. She grabbed her bag and phone and left the house. She didn’t have far to walk to meet up with West as he lived right next door. She rang the doorbell and stood on the step waiting for someone to answer and she wondered how long he’d lived there without them even knowing he existed. She took a deep breath and was thinking about how she probably shouldn’t have much to drink because she was a total lightweight and was bound to make a fool out of herself. And then the door opened.

Great. I’ll meet you in an hour then?
It’s called The Grove. Ever heard of it?
An hour ok…

No I don’t think I have actually.
I wouldn’t want to make your boyfriend jealous. I know I would be
am…
I’m sure Brandon will understand that there’s nothing in it… Because there isn’t.

So where are we going?
A buddy of mine just inherited his old man’s bar and completely modernized it. We should go, you know, if you’re allowed to…
Why wouldn’t I be allowed?

Well, Miss Brooke. How well can you handle a little alcohol?
That’s a good question… I’m a bit of a lightweight. What were you thinking?

Think? Wouldn’t you rather have something to do? I could “think” of a few things we could do, if you’re up for it, of course.
Oh yeah? And what might those things be?
